1. The 8-Step Beginner’s Guide to Value Investing

This book is such a kind of stock trading book which enumerates on discerning aspects of value investing by focusing on long-term investing fundamentals.

This book is very easy to understand for beginners, the book explains that prices are fueled by emotions in the short term and math in the long term.

The main goal of the book is to investing money in such a way that you don’t have to worry about your financial architecture anymore.

The book does a wonderful job of explaining why risk is defined by our expertise in evaluating it, and the more important thing is that you should know the benefits of long-term investing with a bunch of reputed company’s examples.

The highlight of the book is how it helps us understand how to separate paper losses from real losses, and how to account for inflation in analyzing our investments. This is one of the best stock market trading books for strategic investors.

2. Trade Like a Stock Market Wizard - Best stock trading books

Mark Minervini is not only one of the world’s most successful stock traders, but he is also an excellent teacher. This book is full of clear and readable advice for traders. It is essential to realize that the book is not for long-term, buy-and-hold investors but for those who want to buy and sell over a period of weeks or months.

He recommends buying when the stock is in an uptrend – and he defines an uptrend in some detail. On the whole, he prefers to ignore fundamental metrics and focus on chart action. He is also dedicated to risk management, and he advises the quick sale of shares that are falling in value.

This book is highly readable, but it’s not a recipe for getting rich quickly. The successful trader must study his craft for 40-80 hours a week, maybe for years, and work hard at money management and self-discipline.

I would recommend this book to anyone who invests in shares, whether as a speculator or a long-term investor. One of the best stock market trading books for beginners.

3. One Up On Wall Street

This is the sequel from Benjamin Graham’s (Warren Buffets mentor) technical book ‘Intelligent Investor‘. Just like that book It did not disappoint.

Peter Lynch’s unique perspective as a former mutual fund manager gives insight into how mutual funds picked stocks and how he picked stocks.

How he picks stocks versus Buffett is quite similar for the most part but he puts his own unique twist to it which most people wouldn’t think of. He gives plenty of examples of mistakes he made and how he has learned from them which makes him very relatable.

I would recommend this book to anyone with basic knowledge of corporate finance ( what stocks are, how they work, etc). However, this book, like Benjamin Graham, only gets 4 stars simply because it’s old and some principles & advice may not apply anymore.

4. Buffett’s 2-Step Stock Market Strategy

This is a great intro to value investing. What differentiates this book is that the author takes us through how he analyzes companies – what metrics he looks at, how he analyzes income statements, etc – and he provides very actionable insights on how to evaluate companies based on your investment goals.

This book is great for anyone looking to make intelligent investment decisions based on long-term company fundamentals, instead of speculative buys or making decisions based on stock prices.

Where you might end up not having fun and interested to hustle more. Highly recommend stock trading books.

5. Common Stocks and Uncommon Profits and Other Writings

This book is recommended by Buffet himself, this book is one of the classics, as you already probably know. Although it is dated in some sense, however, the core message remains quite relevant even in today’s time, as much it did perhaps 70 years ago when the book was originally written.

Philips Fisher introduces the reader with the “Scuttlebutt” approach to stock picking, quite early on in the book. As you move further he buttresses his views with data and practical examples.

He begins by saying that the best time to sell a stock is “never” which he practiced himself when he held the stocks of Motorola, Texas Instrument, and Raychem for the entirety of his life, although his son in the preface admits that by the end of his father’s career, he had become recalcitrant to the new stock while solely focusing on the above mentioned three top stocks.

The book can be surmised by the following philosophies :
1. Growth companies: The company should be in a growth sector meaning its sales should grow to perpetuity.
2. New Growth: The company should be able to find new avenues of growth if the current lines dry up, either through Research and Development or through inorganic acquisitions.
3. Moat: There should be sufficient barriers to entry in the product lineup to prevent other players from entering the same market and usurping the incumbent player (Think iPhone).

6. Market Wizards, Updated: Interviews with Top Traders

A read of Market Wizards will magically transform the way you think about making money in the market. This is not an academic book presenting theories on trading. Market Wizards allows you to learn from the experience of the pros, showing you the thinking that went into their strategies to make them a success.

Most of these traders started with nearly scratch and compounded their winnings to millions. Now through the eyes of Jack Schwager, decades of lessons learned from trial and error are handed to you within this small book.

To get the full benefit, it is necessary to read from beginning to end. What strikes me most is both the depth and breadth covered by the interviews.

The book is divided into several segments, covering futures, equities, investors who follow economy-wide trends, and a little bit of psychological analysis. The key to learning from this book is linking the ideas from all the separate interviews together.

Absolutely perfect stock market trading books for beginners.

Stock trading books are very helpful to know what to do before you start trading.

And Andrew explains systematically what you need to do step by step to be successful on day trading for a living.

Every tool that Andrew mentions is beyond a must for day trading. One of the best stock trading books for everyone.

8. A Beginner's Guide to the Stock Market

Matthew Kratter’s book is the same kind of book, only, perhaps, better. He summarizes many different approaches to investing and trading and provides solid tips and resources to get started.

This is one of those stock market tradings and investing books that will give you the basic guide on the stock market, where you can learn most of the techniques which you need for beginner investors.

Whether you want to start with the blue-chip world of buy-and-hold dividend collection or try the more active world of options trading–or something in between–there is something here for you.

An excellent beginner’s guide to the stock market. The book covers and anticipated the many questions the new investor may have. It also covered many definitions of stock market terms that are necessary to understand trading.

Highly rated stock market trading books for beginners.

9. Trading in the Zone

Trading in the Zone is one of the best stock trading books for everyone who wants to learn about trading in the first place.

This is a watershed text on investing and trading psychology. Too often we underestimate the importance of individual mindset, psychology, and particularly emotion on the effectiveness of our investing or trading systems.

If we can understand traits, strengths, and weaknesses, then we can personalize a system that will improve returns.

Beautifully written, amazing stock market trading books especially if you want to learn trading systems.

Douglas articulates the common dangers of trading, such as failing to take responsibility, and then gives us principles and tools to overcome them. Thinking in terms of probabilities and not ‘right and wrong’ is perhaps the most important single understanding.

When we shift our thinking in this regard and then devise objective rules in an effective trading or investing system, We can be more objective and consistent. This book is a must in anyone’s library.

10. How I Made $2,000,000 in the Stock Market

Simple And Easy To Read Book.

The author was a dancer & self-taught investor. He tried various methods like fundamental analysis when he was on a world tour giving a performance in various countries but those didnt give results.

So He invented his own box theory for the selection of stocks even then there were some drawbacks later he rectified those. Telegraph has helped him in trading when he was on the world tour.

This is not a book about Technical Analysis. The key message is that an investor must have

(1) A plan & style [Darvas’s is Growth/ Momentum];

(2) Be disciplined in keeping to it: e.g. when you buy set a Stop Loss and ALWAYS keep to it;

(3) NEVER buy on tips, newspaper recommendations, etc.

The story is entertaining; the serious message shows that some rules are perennial.

11. Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets

Unlike the other stock market trading books out there on the market,

This book covers a significant amount of vital areas of stock market technical analysis. The author has presented a wide range of topics such as dow theory, chart patterns, candle patterns, moving averages and various indicators, Elliot wave and cycle theory, relative strength, market breadth, and inter-market linkage.

The author even managed to present the basic ideas of the trading system, which is good for beginners.

This book should be one of the foundations of any trader’s arsenal and I can’t recommend it enough. It does pique your interest in reading the extensive referenced books and those will be on my list as well. Get this book, read it a few times, and then revisit it every few years; you won’t go wrong.

12. How to Trade In Stocks

Most traders and investors that stumble upon Jesse Livermore read his book ” Reminiscences of a Stock Trader“. This book, “How to Trade in Stocks” is by far the better read. “How to Trade in Stocks” actually gives you an excellent road map for how to trade, something that “Reminiscences” does not.

While “How to Trade in Stocks” is not the better seller, it should be. It offers useful information that any investor or trader can benefit from. The book also infuses amusing historical anecdotes and photos from Livermore’s personal life and professional career. Highly recommended.

some really great lessons from this godfather of trading. “Only sell your position when the market tells you to, not because of what your emotions tell you to”. “Only add to winning positions, losers add to losing positions”. Highly recommended stock market trading books for everyone.
